Somewhere in the Circa 1886 Restaurant wine cellar of 250 selections from around the world, wine enthusiasts are sure to find a palate-pleasing selection. Just like its food menu, Circa 1886′s wine menu changes with the seasons. For the winter: rich and deep reds to compliment hearty dishes. For hot Charleston summers: crisp whites and light reds to match an array of salads and seafood dishes. All year round: a perfect wine pairing for Executive Chef Marc Collins’ “low-country haute cuisine.”
Circa 1886 Restaurant was recently dubbed a “superlative hot spot” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Circa 1886 is tucked into the gardens of the Wentworth Mansion in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Its secluded neighborhood spot is a destination unto itself for some vino enjoyment. Wine Enthusiast named four Destination Bottles, wine very unique to our menu, as Château Margaux 2005 Margaux, Donatella Cinelli Colombini 2003 Progetto, Prime Donne (Brunello di Montalcino) and Boscaini 1988 Amarone Marano (Valpolicella).
Circa 1886 Restaurant Owner Rick Widman calls the honor “incredible” and is thrilled to be in the company of such fantastic restaurants from New York City, San Francisco and everywhere in between.
