Meet Penelope and Win a Trip to Charleston

Summer may be over, but the fun is not.

If you’ve been following along these past few months, you’ve watched each of our inns’ websites undergo a pretty stunning transformation (why thank you, Blue Ion friends!) Our fourth and final site for the Fulton Lane Inn launched just last week and now we’re ready to start up our next round of fun.

So without further adieu we’d like to officially introduce Penelope, our resident pineapple. Most people are used to seeing her in black and white on our Charming Inns logo, but she has sprung to life and is hitting the streets for a five-week Charleston vacation. Starting Monday, September 10th, Penelope the Pineapple will be spending some time at each of our inns and doing some sightseeing as well. She has a backstage pass to some of Charleston’s most intriguing places and will be sharing her travels via blog and Facebook.

Here’s the clincher, though she’ll be seeing some cool spots around town, it’s up to you to guess exactly where she is each week. Every Monday through October 8th, Penelope will post a photo to the blog and Facebook along with some clues about her location. You’ll have until that Wednesday to guess where she is. Guess Penelope’s location correctly each time, and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a special overnight package for two at the Fulton Lane Inn. The package also includes dinner to our Circa 1886 Restaurant (with wine pairings) and a tour through the city from Bulldog Tours.

Scrounge up those Charleston vacation photos, grab a guidebook and prepare your fingers for some Googling. Penelope’s first vacation photo will be posted on Monday at 10am. If you’re not the most seasoned Charleston traveler and can’t get her location right every time, there will still be plenty of fun along the way.

Stay tuned and learn a bit more about the glorious city that is Charleston. Stay in touch with Penelope’s travels on Facebook via the pages of Charming Inns, Wentworth Mansion, John Rutledge House, Fulton Lane Inn or Kings Courtyard Inn.

  1. Love staying at Kings Courtyard Inn, celebrated by birthday last year with ya’ll and would love to return for another stay :-)

    • What a treat this sojourn must have been! I could see how much crvatiee inspiration one can garner when surrounded by all this charm, beauty and history.Beautiful paintings by the way!

  2. What a treat it would be able to enjoy and visit one of our favorite places; Charleston, SC and to be able to dine and be a guest at your Inn.

  3. We have stayed at the Kings Courtyard and the Fulton Inn. Both have their own quaint personalities! We make at least one trip a year to Charleston, if not more, and always stay at a Charming Inn.
We would love to try the Wentworth or the John Rutledge on a free return trip! Maybe Penelope can help us out!

  4. I’ve stayed at the Wentworth, it’s beautiful, and I stop in there for my favorite soap and shampoo when we’re in town. We’ll be hitting Charleston again when we take our son home from Ft. Gordon, mid November – early January timeline. He’s heard us brag, what a great surprise if we could stay here again.

    • Hi April! Thanks for your note. We’d love to host your family here in Charleston this fall or winter — keep tabs on Penelope and you might all have a nice surprise!
