Tickets to August’s PGA Championship sold out far in advance: namely because of its beautiful ocean side golf course at Kiawah Island and the impressive list of competitors. Charleston’s Post and Courier calls the 2012 tickets “one of the most sought-after tickets in PGA Championship history.” Thanks to a real-life lesson of supply and demand, the PGA folks released one last batch of tickets in early June.
The John Rutledge House Inn in downtown Charleston was granted access to some of these highly sought after tickets. Located just a few miles north of Kiawah Island, the historic inn has extended a special three-night “Birdie” Package, our PGA tickets included.
With the “Birdie” Package, you’ll enjoy golf by day and rich culture by night. This exclusive package grants two guests access to two rounds of golf (4 tickets total) and a three night stay at the inn.
Begin each morning with a hot breakfast delivered to your room. After two sunny days on the golf course, unwind with afternoon tea, wine, sherry or brandy on the inn’s breezy balcony overlooking Broad Street. You’re a short walk from the city’s best restaurants, boutiques, galleries and famous waterfront.
Take a break from the norm and book your “Birdie” Package at the John Rutledge House Inn from Monday through Wednesday (August 6-8), with rates starting at $945. Or, escape town for an early weekend, from Thursday through Sunday (August 9-12) with rates from $1095. If you’re game for more golf during your visit, a few more tickets are available at a discounted rate.
Book your downtown Charleston-Kiawah Island PGA getaway. The “Birdie” Package will only be offered through June 30th. Visit here to book and get more details.
