A Day at the Beach: Sullivan's Island

Nothing says summer like a long day at the beach. Escape to Charleston to soak in the warm summer breeze, picturesque coast, and beautiful Lowcountry sun. Charleston has five beaches - each with their own distinct personality. Sullivan's Island is one of our favorite beaches with a rich history, laid back feel, and casual restaurant scene. Sullivans Island in Charleston Start your day exploring Charleston's fascinating history at Fort Moultrie. Step back in time at the fort, which suffered an attack before it was even complete in 1776. Today, guests can move through different periods in American history, from the Revolutionary War to World War II.   After exploring Fort Moultrie, head toward Station 22 where you can park your car and enjoy the walk to one of Sullivan's Island's many restaurants. Our recommendations: Grab a burger and a beer at Poe's Tavern, or head to Home Team BBQ for BBQ Nachos and a Game Changer frozen drink.   From the smell of jasmine wafting through the streets, to the seersucker and straw hats on the beach, you will find that you have landed at the perfect Southern beach. Prepare yourself for a day of cool libations, beach games, and sand between your toes.   Don’t have your Charleston vacation on the books?
