Take a stroll of Charleston’s lesser-seen areas with Charleston Stroll. Feel inspired by the sight of the city’s historic district decked out in the spirit of the season. Tour private neighborhoods in their full holiday finery and hear stories and highlights of old Charlestowne. The Edmondston-Alston House is hosting Christmas 1860 — a historical production of the days leading up to the Civil War. Gain a deeper understanding of the culture around the holiday season during those changing days. Then, tour the 19th century home to see what life of the Civil War-era was like. If you want more history, spend a night at the John Rutledge House Inn. This home dates back nearly 60 years before the time of the Edmondston-Alston House and now makes a perfect temporary home!
