Even More Holiday Events in Charleston

Ah, it's already week three of holiday events in Charleston. My how time flies! What's been your favorite experience so far? Here's what's going on in Charleston this week...

Every night through December 31st - The James Island Festival of Lights-

Hop in the car and take a drive to James Island County Park. Here, over 1 million lights are strung up in a dazzling holiday display that puts the Griswold family to shame. Tune the radio into your favorite Christmas hits, wait until dark falls and drive through the illuminated three-mile loop. You can also take the walking trail and stop by Santa's Village afterward to roast marshmallows and make s'mores. Admission is $12 per car during the week and $15 on the weekend.

Wednesday, December 19th - Christmas Tour at the Joseph Manigault House

As if the Joseph Manigault House's crystal chandeliers and sweeping spiral staircase weren't enough beauty, each December, the Charleston Garden Club decks out the historic home to a theme using live plant materials that would have been available in the Lowcountry during the first quarter of the 19th century. Discover an awe-worthy mix of magnolia leaves, palm fronds, peacock feathers, antlers, bright flowers and more. Take a tour a guided tour of the home on Wednesday. Adults are $10 and children are $5. Friday, December 21st - Sound of Charleston at Circular Congregational Church

An amazing holiday concert awaits, just a short walk from our inn. At the holiday Sound of Charleston concert, you'll hear the sounds that define Charleston and its rich musical heritage, from gospel to Gershwin, including selected holiday songs of the period. Historic Circular Congregational Church will be festively decorated for Christmas to provide a beautiful backdrop for this enchanting evening. Saturday, December 22nd - Cookie Decorating at the Kiawah Island Sanctuary

Out on the pristine Kiawah Island, The Kiawah Resort pulls out all the stops to create memorable, family-friendly holiday experiences by the beach. Take the scenic drive and join the always-fun Cookie Decorating session on Saturday morning at 11am at their five-star restaurant, The Sanctuary. This free event requires advanced registration - give the folks at the Sanctuary a call to reserve a spot at 843-768-6253. Make sure to stick around afterward to have hot cocoa with Mrs. Claus herself.
