Sunny days are coming yet again, start planning your beach day excursions with this local guide.

Nothing says summer quite like a trip to the beach! Escape to Charleston to soak in the warm, low country sun at one of the many beaches in close proximity to the city. Each beach has its own distinct personality, so find out which one will provide you with the perfect beach day!

Isle of Palms

Isle of Palms has been a destination for beachgoers for generations.  The newly designed beachfront area is located on Ocean Boulevard from 10th Avenue to 14th Avenue. Ice cream shops, pizza parlors, golf courses, and the marina make this picturesque beachfront is the perfect location for any family vacation.

Sullivan’s Island

Sullivan’s Island is one of our favorite beaches with a rich history, laid-back feel, and casual restaurant scene. Enjoy BBQ and Trivia? Head to dinner at Home Team. More into Poetry and Burgers? Poe’s Tavern is a must. At only 3.3 miles, what Sullivan’s lacks in size, it makes up for in sheer beauty.

Folly Beach

Just South of Charleston, Folly Beach is a haven for surfers, fishermen, and all lovers of the laid-back beach lifestyle. Great restaurants, bars, and live music are what you can expect to find in this retro beach town and should be a destination for anyone visiting Charleston. Don't forget, no beach day at Folly is complete without a stop at Charleston Crab House for the world famous Lowcountry boil.   This summer, King Street’s Fulton Lane Inn and Kings Courtyard Inn have the perfect package for those wanting to explore both downtown Charleston and the surrounding beaches. We’ll send you with all the essentials for a perfect, worry-free beach day – beach chairs, towels, a cooler and picnic lunch from Cafe Framboise.
